The 2027 YZ450FX adopts the updated design of the YZ450F, with a philosophical change to its base function that focuses on improving comfort and controllability in technical terrain.

Power character is focused on smoother delivery with more controllable low-RPM torque, making it easier to ride in technical conditions. The suspension characteristics have been specifically optimised to cater to the longer rides of competitive cross-country racing, providing more initial movement, comfort and compliance over slippery, rocky, and root filled terrain.

Overall, the new YZ450FX is easier to ride faster, longer, especially on extremely technical trails.

450cc High Performance Engine

The new 2025 YZ450FX's advanced four stroke engine has been completely redisgned to be lighter, more compact, higher revving and more powerful across the entire rev range. Among the changes are new exhaust and intake port shapes, larger diameter titanium intake valves, new piston, cylinder, crankshaft and balancer assembly, and a switch from wet sump to dry sump lubrication. Additionally, ECU setting are tailored to suit the specific needs of cross country and enduro competition.

Class Leading Suspension

Settings on the industry-leading, fully adjustable KYB coil-spring type fork with enhanced speed-sensitive damping have been revised to suit the machine and off-road conditions and have the addition of toolless compression clickers for ease of adjustment. The link type rear suspension features a KYB shock with cross country focused damping characteristics to match the YZ450FX's chasis.

Adjustable Engine Mapping

New lightweight handlebar mounted switchgear allows the rider to quickly select between pre-loaded engine maps- loaded and configured in the Power Tuner App- to adjust for changing riding conditions. Map 1 provides more responsive, quicker revving engine characteristics while Map 2 provides smoother response and slower revving characteristics for when traction is limited.

Aluminum bilateral beam frame

Striking the perfect balance of precise cornering performance and handling stability, tje redesigned aluminium frame consists of more than 10 different aluminium components welded together with YZ450FX specific XC-tuned engine mounts. The result is a better handling machine with lighter feel, improved bump absorption and increased traction.
